I am not a number, but a person from Syria who lost everything in last 5 years. I had a family who used to love me like anything and i used to do same. In a blast, I lost them in front of my eyes. But I was helpless. In grief, l cried like a baby. With passage of time, my tears got dried up. I was hopeless and aimless for my life. In silence, i used to think “why we suffered???” We never did wrong to others. Why Allah punished us? In holy Quran, we are said do good to others & you will be rewarded with jannat. The land where people used to celebrate, live and survive now turns to land of broken infrastructure and dead bodies. After that incident with mine, I left my town to avoid seeing my land turning into graveyard. With my savings, I start to move to safer place. In whole journey, everything was changed except the people. All those were left during the civil war were search of safe place. Situation was bad but it got worsen with uprising of ISIS. Many of affected people joined then in believe of better life, many flew to our land to join them. They started to kill many of us to spread fear in lands. And suddenly we, Syrian turned to be cherry of the cake. Everyone was eager to know about us and ISIS. Many Press agencies were busy to cover us. Unfortunately some lost their lives in cross attacks. In whole mess, ISIS strengthens its base in our lands. With many terrorist attacks in foreign lands by ISIS made world to take actions against them. In air strikes by different countries not only killed ISISians but many of us were killed. We lost every basic facility.
Thanks to WHO, UNICEF and UNHCR volunteers who helped to re stabilise the basic living facilities for us. They are good humans. Most important, I am always obliging to all the donors who donated for us to have a better life for us. Yet those saints are struggling hard to maintain the basic facilities as no. of people are increasing in relief camps of them. Allah!! Bless them. They are planning to shift us to nearby countries to save us from violence. Many of us don’t want to leave Syria but we have too!!.
The process of registration in UNHCR has started. Soon, I will too register in that and will get a unique number as new identity and a refugee tag. I never know, Will i ever will be back to my motherland?? I pray Allah, please peace my land so as we will able to return back and restart our life. I hope world will understand that peace is ultimate need to survive in this piece of life. I expect world never see a crisis like Syrian crisis!!!!!
